PINZA FRENO PM - PM BRAKE CALIPER

Preparando un nuovo vecchio bobberino mi sono ritrovato a mettere mano a quasi tutte le sue parti. Cuscinetti nuovi, impianto elettrico, verniciature varie, tante modifiche, e tanti pezzi da ricondizionare. E' il caso di queste vecchie pinze PM. Erano veramente messe male. Le ho sgrassate, sabbiate, lavate e fatte verniciare a polvere. Ovviamente poi ho montato un bel kit di guarnizioni nuove della PM. Lo stesso è valso per la pinza posteriore ed i pompanti. Quanto tempo si impiega per fare le cose fatte bene, ma poi il risultato ripaga.

While working on a new old bobber I had to take care of most of its parts. New bearings, cables, wiring, losts of custom parts and stuff. The brake calipers were some old dirty PM ones. I cleaned them up, sanded them and had them powdercoated. Lucky that I could find the PM rebuilding kit to replace all the old rubbers. Same i did for the rear brake caliper and master cylinders. It really takes a lot of time if you want to do things the right way, but at the end it's really worth it.

Ecco il sottosella stuccato e verniciato a polvere nero lucido e pronto per essere montato. Vediamo se domani riesco a finirlo. Troppe cose da fare.

And here is the underseat pan after a good flat black powdercoating and ready to be installed. Let's see if I can find the time to finish it tomorrow. Too many things to do.

SOTTOSELLA SOFTAIL - SOFTAIL UNDERSEAT PAN

Mentre baggerizzo una bagger e bobberizzo un bobber per il Rombo di Tuono, mi ricavo anche il tempo per piccoli lavoretti tipo questo sottosella per una FLSTSB Softail Cross Bones. Ho fatto una dima con del cartone, ci ho studiato un po' sopra, ho preso degli scarti di ferraccio, li ho tagliati e ricomposti in un bel puzzle e poi ho saldato il tutto. Il risultato definitivo lo vedrò domani dopo un bella verniciatura ma per il momento ne sono molto soddisfatto. Si fissa solo con due viti e calza a pennello.

While I'm baggerizing a bagger and bobberizing a bobber I can still find the time to create some little parts like this underseat pan for an FLSTSB Softail Cross Bones. I made a raw sketch with some paper, took some sheet metal leftovers, cut them and assembled them in a puzzle, welded everything together and there it is. It looks nice and works pretty well considering that it is only attached to the frame with just two bolts. I'll see the the final result tomorrow after a good powdercoating.

OCCHI - EYES

Quaranta occhi su di me per festeggiare i miei quarant'anni. Via per il week-end e poi settimana prossima si ricomincia a fare le cose sul serio. Tanti bei progetti sul tavolo. Chissà se riuscirò a fare tutto nei tempi previsti? Intanto festeggio tra donne e pizzoccheri.

Forty eyes on me for my fortieth Birthday. I'll be gone for the week-end and then next week I'll start working for real. Lots of great projects on the table. I wonder if I'll be able to do everything. Meanwhile I'll party with my girls and some great greasy food!

CRAZYOILS' HEAVEN

Crazyoils si trasferisce in Paradiso. Ovvero nella nuova sede a nove metri d'altezza da dove era prima. Un nuovo spazio più ampio dove poter tenere accessori, attrezzi, ed un piccolo ufficio. Ed ovviamente le moto degli amici, che vengono innalzate tramite uno speciale carrello elevatore, il Crazyoils Elevator, che è stato opportunamente modificato insieme a The Creech nel più classico stile dell'A-Team.

Crazyoils goes to Heaven. That's to say that we are moving to our new location, 30 feet above the ground. There will be a nice open space where to keep parts and accessories, tools and of course our friends' bikes that will be raised up there with a custom elevator. Yes, me and The Creech created the Crazyoils Elevator, remembering the good welding techniques of the A-Team.

ROMBO DI TUONO 2012

Mentre tutti gli amici di Crazyoils sono a divertirsi al Faaker in Austria, noi stiamo preparandoci per uno degli appuntamenti più importanti dell'anno: il Rombo di Tuono.
