2014 CRAZYOILS CALENDAR

Finalmente è pronto il tanto atteso Calendario Crazyoils 2014. Mesi di lavoro di progettazione, scatti e post produzione ci hanno portato ad ottenere un prodotto di altissima qualità. Ovviamente sarà disponibile in serie limitata quindi affrettatevi ad ordinare le vostre copie. Andrà in stampa nei prossimi giorni e ci auguriamo di averlo pronto da mettere sotto l'albero di Natale. Comunque avviserò non appena avrò in mano la prima copia. Voglio ricordare che una parte del ricavato andrà devoluta in beneficienza alla Fondazione Onlus Aiutare I Bambini. Quindi potrete fare un duplice regalo, a chi desiderate e a chi ha bisogno di un piccolo aiuto.

Finally the 2014 Crazyoils Calendar is ready. After months of hard planning, photoshoots and post production, we reached a very high quality product. It will be ready in a strictly limited edition so please make your reservations in time. It will be printed in the next few days but I'll make another post as soon as I receive the first copy. Hopefully we'll be able to have them in time for Xmas. Please remember that part of the income will be devolved for charity to a non profit foundation to help the children. So it will be a double present for the ones you care about and for the little ones that need a little help.

He has been a friend of Crazyoils since the beginning and most of the mods on the bike have been done by me. CRAZYOILS IMBBA BIKE JUDGE

Sono ormai trascorsi tre anni da quando ho intrapreso la carriera di Giudice IMBBA. Il percorso è lungo ma ne è valsa la pena. Prima il corso, poi l'esaminazione con Rick Fairless, Mondo Porras ed infine con Jeff Starke, Presidente della IMMBA, per arrivare ad essere certificato come Motorcycle Judge. Ho studiato, ho fatto pratica, ho attinto come una spugna tutte le informazioni possibili da alcuni dei "migliori al mondo", ho giudicato centinaia di moto, anche all'estero ai Mondiali AMD. E la strada è ancora lunga. Ma l'impegno è stato gratificato dal rispetto dei miei colleghi, da ottimi risultati ai pochi bike show ai quali ho partecipato, dall'incredibile miglioramento qualitativo del mio lavoro. Mi sono detto: "se so come giudicare e cosa giudicare, so anche come costruire meglio le mie moto". E così è stato. Ora più che desiderare di vincere ai bike show (non sono uno competitivo), il mio impegno è di portare avanti la carriera di Giudice per fare in modo che il lavoro di altri venga rispettato, motivato, e gratificato. Perchè è giusto che sia così. E quando posso, nel mio piccolo, insegnare o dare suggerimenti per migliorare, lo faccio sempre volentieri e disinteressatamente. Perchè è solo così che il livello si eleva e la qualità si avvicina all'eccellenza.

It's been three years now since I've started my career as an IMBBA Judge. It's been a hard and long trail but it was worth it. First of all I took my class and then I've been examined by some of the "best in the World", Mondo Porras, Rick Fairless and IMBBA President Jeff Starke. I studied a lot, I practiced and judged hundreds of bikes at local and international bike shows. I've learnt so much. And finally I got back my reward. The respect of my friends and collegues, a few important results at bike shows, and the constant growing quality of my works. I told myself: "if I know how to judge and what to judge, then I know how to build better bikes". And hell yeah this is true! Now I'm not a competitive person, so this is not because I want to win. It's because I care about quality. And I want to see the highest quality at the bike shows. I want to be a good and fair judge and let the best stand out but also help everyone to understand their limits and improve to do their best the next time. It worked for me. It can work for any one. So I'll be more than happy to give away suggestions at advice to any one that asks and wants to understand how the high quality standards of IMBBA work. Fit, Form, Function and Safety. This way the level will be always growing and the bike builders will be constantly aiming to excellence.

DI NUOVO IN STRADA - ON THE ROAD AGAIN

Finalmente dopo mesi di silenzio ritorno a scrivere sul blog. Sono accadute tante cose in questi mesi. Troppo lavoro forse, troppi impegni e troppo poco tempo. E poi il computer morto non mi ha certo aiutato. Ma ora è ritornato in vita e quindi farò del mio meglio per aggionare il blog il più possibile.

Intanto sono anche riuscito a farmi un unico breve giro con la mia piccola Essen Ass. Spettacolo puro. Il motore è ancora in rodaggio, ma la ciclistica è completamente cambiata grazie ad Oram e Freespirits. I tornanti ed i duemila metri di altezza del Passo San Marco sono stati un bel battesimo. Spero di riuscire ad organizzare a breve un nuovo giro. Intanto se passate al mio stand al Rombo di Tuono potrete vederla coi vostri occhi.

Finally I'm back on the blog after months of silence. Too many things happened. Too much work, too busy. And the broken computer didn't help. But now it has been fixed and it seems to work again so I'll try to do my best to update the blog as much as possible.

In the mean time I had a chance to take a short test ride with my little Essen Ass. Wow. I can only say that. The engine still needs to run a bit but the overall riding was amazing thanks to Oram and Freespirits suspensions. I took the bike up to two thousand meters high at the San Marco Pass. Way to go for a first run. I hope I can organize some other runs soon. But if you happen to be at the Rombo di Tuono you can check the bike at my booth.

America's Fun - Reggio Emilia 2013

S&S SPECIAL

A volte nella vita capitano occasioni uniche, irripetibili ed atamente inaspettate che ti costringono a modificare radicalmente schemi e programmi prefissati per poterle perseguire. Tre settimane fa mi è arrivata una mail dalla S&S Cycle, azienda leader al mondo nella produzione di motori e componenti high performance per Harley-Davidson. La proposta era di preparare per loro una moto, su base Sportster, da poter esporre al loro stand al Big Bike Europe di Essen in Germania, la fiera che ospiterà il campionato del mondo AMD. Potevo forse dire di no? Una cosa del genere non capita tutti i giorni. Così ho colto la palla al balzo ed ho accettato con entusiasmo, proponendo loro che non solo avrei preparato una moto per loro, ma sarebbe stata una moto da campionato mondiale ed avrebbe avuto i colori ed i loghi commemorativi del 55esimo anniversario di S&S che giustappunto cade quest'anno. E così è cominciata questa mia nuova avventura.

Sometimes there are certain occasions in life that you really do not expect and that mess up all your plans but for the good. Three weeks ago I received an email from S&S Cycle. They were asking me to prepare a Sportster with some of their products to show at the Big Bike Europe event in Essen, Germany in May. Of course I could not refuse the offer ad also I promised them I would have built a World class special bike to celebrate their 55th anniversay. So now my new adventure begins.

ROMBO DI TUONO 2012

Volete sapere come è andato il Robo di Tuono? Benissimo! Grande affluenza di pubblico, gran divertimento, nuovi fantastici amici. Cosa si può volere di più? Sono arrivato ultimo di due (o forse si dice secondo) al KICK (Kampionato Italiano Kostruttori Kustom). Per ovvie ragioni che non sto a spiegarvi non poteva essere diversamente (hahaha). Ma la cosa che più mi importava era il diploma di Associate Judge, conferitomi davanti a tutti dal Presidente della IMBBA (International Master Bike Builders Association) Jeff Starke. Il mio percorso di crescita prosegue e mi dà grande soddisfazione. C'è tantissimo da imparare da tutti quanti e molto da migliorare. Ma la cosa mi stimola e mi entusiasma. Devo ringraziare le mie ragazze Giulia e Paola che mi hanno sopportato, i miei amici Albi, Joe e Rudy, e poi Dani e Nunzia e i loro amici, Marco e Ambrogio, e Francesco, il miglio Bike Builder Siciliano, e Jeff, Corrado, Fabrizio, Derk e Jacob di Bad Dad, e tutti quelli che ho conosciuto e che in qualche piccolo modo, anche solo con un sorriso o una stretta di mano sostengono i miei sforzi e la mia missione. Non per ultima la mia famiglia che ho trascurato per finire le moto in tempo. Pazienza, stiamo costruendo il futuro. Ancora una volta un'esperienza indimenticabile.

Do you want to know how the Rombo di Tuono show was? Simply great! Lots of people came to see my bikes, I had fun and met new great friends. What else could I ask for? I came in last at the bike show in the Bagger class. Actually we were only two competing so that means second place, but I already knew I couldn't do better than that for obvious reasons that I do not want to explain. Anyway I don't really care. I was there for another reason. I finally got certified as Associate Judge by Jeff Starke, President of IMBBA (International Master Bike Builders Association). So that means a lot to me. Another great step in my career as a Judge and a Bike Builder. I really had a great time and learnt a lot. And there is always so much to learn. This thing makes me proud and happy and excited to do better and better everyday. I have to thank my girls Giulia and Paola for keeping me up, my great friends Albi, Joe and Rudy and then Dani and Nunzia and all their friends, Marco and Ambrogio, and Francesco, the great Sicilian Bike Builder, Jeff, Corrado, Fabrizio, Derk and Jacob of Bad Dad Custom Motorcycles, and all the people that supported me with a smile or a hand shake. That means a lot to me. Thank you all. Last but not least my dear Family that I missed for the past two weeks because I had to finish the bikes in time. Be patient, I'm building our future. Once again it has been a great experience that I'll never forget.

BIKER'S LIFE - OCT. 2012

E' uscito in edicola Biker's Life di Ottobre. All'interno trovate la classifica della tappa di Imola dell'Italian Motorcycle Championship dove le due bagger Crazyoils si sono piazzate al terzo e al quarto posto (dopo un primo e secondo ottenuti alla precedente tappa di Reggio-Emilia), ma soprattutto un bel servizio sulla Asso di Picche, la seconda full bagger realizzata da Crazyoils che ha già ampiamente riscosso successo in giro per l'Italia ed anche oltre confine. Una nuova presenza sulla carta stampata quindi, alla quale faccio ancora fatica ad abituarmi, ma che mi dà una certa soddisfazione e prova che sto percorrendo la giusta strada.

October's issue of Biker's Life is out in the newstands in these days. Inside you can find the results of Imola's Italian Motorcycle Championship where the two Crazyoils' baggers got a third and a fourth place (after having placed first and second at the previuos event in Reggio-Emilia). But most important there is a nice five pages piece on the second big bagger by Crazyoils, the Ace of Spades, that is already gaining attention here in Italy and in other Countries as well. I guess it's still funny to see myself and the bikes I build on magazines but I guess I need to get used to it. In any case it makes me a bit proud and makes me think I'm heading in the right direction.

CRAZYOILS' HEAVEN

Crazyoils si trasferisce in Paradiso. Ovvero nella nuova sede a nove metri d'altezza da dove era prima. Un nuovo spazio più ampio dove poter tenere accessori, attrezzi, ed un piccolo ufficio. Ed ovviamente le moto degli amici, che vengono innalzate tramite uno speciale carrello elevatore, il Crazyoils Elevator, che è stato opportunamente modificato insieme a The Creech nel più classico stile dell'A-Team.

Crazyoils goes to Heaven. That's to say that we are moving to our new location, 30 feet above the ground. There will be a nice open space where to keep parts and accessories, tools and of course our friends' bikes that will be raised up there with a custom elevator. Yes, me and The Creech created the Crazyoils Elevator, remembering the good welding techniques of the A-Team.

MATRIMONIO - WEDDING

Cosa c'è di meglio che sposarsi e trovarsi fuori dalla chiesa la propria moto? E' il regalo che abbiamo fatto al nostro amico Lorenzo che la settimana scorsa ha deciso di convolare senza dire nulla a nessuno. Quindi noi senza dirgli nulla lo abbiamo reso un po' più felice nel giorno più bello della sua vita. Ecco a cosa servono gli amici. Buona Strada Vale e Lorenzo!
