Qualche giorno fa vi avevo anticipato i lavori che avrei fatto su una XLH 883 del '98. Lavori che si sono prolungati perchè non ho potuto fare a meno di aggiungere un po' di creatività spontanea e sistemare qualche piccolo inconveniente riscontrato lungo il percorso. Ecco come si presentava la moto inizialmente.

A few days ago I told you I had to do some restyling on a '98 XLH 883 of a friend of mine. It took me a bit longer than I thought but I had to add my personal touch here and there and solve some little problems that I found along the way. This is how the bike looked like when I took it home.

And this is the bike after the treatment. There's everything my friend wanted plus much more.
Filtro drilled con sfiati in maglia metallica.

Drilled air cleaner with braided steel hoses and chrome breather.
Nuova staffa rialzata per la bobina, nuova staffa per lo spostamento dello strumento sul lato, e nuova staffa per le frecce sotto il canotto. Tutto fatto a mano.

New coil bracket, new instrument side mount bracket, new turn signal bracket. Everything is hand made.
Disco flottante cromato con pinza Tokico a 4 pistoni e staffa fatta su misura.

Chrome floating rotor and 4 piston Tokico brake caliper with hand made bracket.
Staffa per lo spostamento del blocchetto di accensione sotto la batteria.

I moved the ignition switch underneat the battery and created a new bracket to support it.
Specchietti vintage regolabili, leve cromate ergonomiche e manopole bianche old school.

Adjustable vintage mirrors, chrome ergonomic levers and white old school grips.
Faro Springer da 6 1/2 pollici con lampada alogena adattata. Ho dovuto creare la staffa del faro ed ho aggiunto una vite a farfalla con orecchie di Topolino per fissarla alla piastra.

6 1/2" Springer headlight. I replaced the old 6 volt bulb with a new 12 volt halogen lamp. I created the healight bracket and fastened it with a Mickey Mouse Ears nut.
Ho aggiunto qualche bullone in ottone per far risaltare ancora di più il nero e le cromature.

I added a few brass nuts to enhance the black and chrome colors.
E ho rifatto buona parte dell'impianto elettrico nascondendo i cablaggi il più possibile.

And finally I replaced most of the wiring hiding them as much as possible.
Il bello è che questa è solo la prima parte del lavoro. A primavera ci saranno nuove cose da fare. Un grazie particolare al mio amico "The Creech" per l'aiuto e i torroncini.
