STATORE DISTRUTTO - BROKEN STATOR

Questa cosa non mi era mai capitata ed ho voluto documentarla. Lo statore della Dyna di un amico non caricava. Cose che succedono. Ma quando ho aperto il carter della primaria sono rimasto a bocca aperta nel vedere pezzi di statore sparsi dappertutto. A quel punto mi sono preoccupato seriamente. E poi ho aperto la campana che copre lo statore ed ho visto l'orrendo spettacolo. Tutto macinato, polverizzato. Un vero casino. Nulla che non si possa sistemare, ma è comunque una brutta storia e non riesco a capire come possa essere accaduto.

This is the first time I see something like this. A friend of mine has this Dyna and the stator wasn't charging at all. It may happen. But when I opened up the primary case I noticed pieces of copper wire all over the place and I realized there was something very wrong. Then I took off the alternator cover and I found out the horrible situation. Everything was completely destroyed. A serious mess. Nothing that can't be fiexed, but I still don't know how this could happen.

2007 XL883 SPORTSTER CRAZYOILS WHITE AND BLUE VERSION

Quando ho acquistato questo Sportster del 2007 era veramente in pessime condizioni, pasticciato esteticamente molto male e soprattutto rovinato ed intaccato da ossidazioni saline. Per fortuna il prezzo era interessante e valeva la pena sistemarlo a dovere. Sono bastate poche verniciature a polvere in nero micaceo a cerchi e motore, nuove sospensioni anteriori e posteriori e qualche piccolo accorgimento come il filtro S&S o il portastrumento Freespirits, per rimetterlo a nuovo. La scelta di una colorazione in bianco e azzurro a teschi (che purtroppo non si vedono in foto) è stata del nuovo proprietario che si è trovato così, con una modesta spesa, una moto su misura completamente rimessa a nuovo.

When I bought this 2007 XL883 Sportster I already had a vision in my mind. The bike was in very poor condition due to bad mods and mantainance. But the price was good enought to work on it and give it a new life. A good powdercoating to wheels and engine parts, new shocks in the front and in the rear, a nice S&S air cleaner and a Freespirits speedo mount and the bike was ready to run. The choice of a white and blue paintjob was up the the new owner that now has a very nice little Sportster with a low budget.

XL1200X FORTYEIGHT CUSTOM EXHAUST

Per cambiare faccia ad una Fortyeight basta poco. I soliti lavoretti. Frecce, filtro, portatarga, colorazione. E poi gli scarichi. Il proprietario della moto voleva qualcosa di diverso e speciale. Così abbiamo deciso di costruirli appositamente. Saldare è un aspetto del mio mestiere che mi piace molto. E' creativo e primordiale ma alla fine mi da molta soddisfazione. Questi scarichi in particolare hanno dei piccoli terminali smontabili dotati di db killer artigianale completo anche di lana di vetro. Suonano il giusto e lavorano bene ed il look della moto ora è molto più aggressivo ed accativante.

You don't need to spend a lot to modify a Fortyeight. In this case I did the same normal mods. Air cleaner, turn signals, licence plate and a new simple paint job. And of course I replaced the exhaust system. The owner wanted something special and unique so I cut and welded some pipes to make him happy. I love welding. It is one of the aspects of my job that gives me more satisfaction. It's fun and wild and creative. And the result at the end is great. These new pipes have replaceable mufflers with quiet baffles for a good sound and performance. And the bike now looks much better.

1991 XLH1200

Questo è un lavoretto che ho fatto nei mesi scorsi. Ho rispolverato una vecchia XLH1200 del 1991 con allestimento Ness. Vecchia scuola anni novanta. Però ha sempre il suo fascino. Aveva bisogno di un po' di cure dopo anni di letargo. Nuovo scarico Supertrapp e modifichine al filtro dell'aria. Nuovo impianto elettrico, bobina Accel, cerchi neri, ed un bel tagliandone. Così è tornata a sfrecciare libera per le strade.

This is a little job that I did in the past months. This 1991 XHL1200 slept for a few years and it needed a good check up and some changes here and there. The body parts are all Ness. Some kind of old school from the Nineties. New Supertrapp exhaust, new drilled air cleaner, new wiring and Accel Supercoil. Some powdercoating to the wheels and it's now ready to hit the road again.

DI NUOVO IN STRADA - ON THE ROAD AGAIN

Finalmente dopo mesi di silenzio ritorno a scrivere sul blog. Sono accadute tante cose in questi mesi. Troppo lavoro forse, troppi impegni e troppo poco tempo. E poi il computer morto non mi ha certo aiutato. Ma ora è ritornato in vita e quindi farò del mio meglio per aggionare il blog il più possibile.

Intanto sono anche riuscito a farmi un unico breve giro con la mia piccola Essen Ass. Spettacolo puro. Il motore è ancora in rodaggio, ma la ciclistica è completamente cambiata grazie ad Oram e Freespirits. I tornanti ed i duemila metri di altezza del Passo San Marco sono stati un bel battesimo. Spero di riuscire ad organizzare a breve un nuovo giro. Intanto se passate al mio stand al Rombo di Tuono potrete vederla coi vostri occhi.

Finally I'm back on the blog after months of silence. Too many things happened. Too much work, too busy. And the broken computer didn't help. But now it has been fixed and it seems to work again so I'll try to do my best to update the blog as much as possible.

In the mean time I had a chance to take a short test ride with my little Essen Ass. Wow. I can only say that. The engine still needs to run a bit but the overall riding was amazing thanks to Oram and Freespirits suspensions. I took the bike up to two thousand meters high at the San Marco Pass. Way to go for a first run. I hope I can organize some other runs soon. But if you happen to be at the Rombo di Tuono you can check the bike at my booth.
