LUCAS TAILLIGHT AND TURN SIGNALS RELOCATION

Mi è capitato di dover sistemare un lavoretto fatto male. Un faro posteriore Lucas montato storto e con frecce riposizionate agli angoli della targa con il risultato che c'erano viti sporgenti che hanno addirittura intaccato il parafango.

Basta così poco per fare le cose fatte bene. Un po' di fantasia e di ingegno ed ecco risolto il problema. A parte sistemare la targa al posto giusto, abbiamo costruito due perni forati e filettati che vanno a far sparire le viti sporgenti ed allo stesso tempo conferiscono un look nuovo al retro della moto. Le viti stesse all'interno del faro vanno in battuta sui supporti delle frecce bloccandole nella loro nuova posizione. Una modifica semplice ma efficace per tutti coloro che montano il Lucas e frecce adeguatamente piccole.

I had to fix a problem on a Dyna Street Bob. Somebody mounted a Lucas taillight and a couple of bullet turn signals on the sides of the licence plate. The plate was not in the right position and the overall work was poor and the screws dented the fender.

It takes so littlte to do a good job. I created a couple of small supports for the signals and bolted them directly on the Lucas. The result is great, very clean and stylish. Two simple bolts do the work and keep the signals in position.  I suggest it to anyone that has a Lucas and wants to do something different and cool.

Qui accanto trovate un omaggio al meraviglioso posteriore delle nostre moto. Vogliamo parlarne? Costano tanto, tantissimo. Ma chi se le è fatte sa che ne vale la pena. Non sono agili come quelle più snelle. Bisogna prenderle con forza. Difficili da cavalcare, ma fanno godere al massimo. E poi quando sono lì in bella mostra insieme alle altre si notano subito. Da esserne gelosi o fieri? Guardare e non toccare!

On the side you can find a tribute to the amazing backs of our bikes. Should we spend a word on them? They are expensive, very expensive. But the lucky ones that done them know that they are worth every penny. They are not as agile as the slimmer ones. You need to bend them with strenght. They are hard to ride, but they take you to heaven. And when they are laying in the sun with all the others they are a headspinner. Should you be gealous or proud? You can look but you can't touch!

BIKE EXPO VERONA 2010

A Verona c'erano tante moto, tanta gente, tanti preparatori. Sicuramente la Fiera più importante dell'anno. Che dire, lo stile italiano si vede, è forte ed originale in alcuni casi, un clone in tanti altri. Molte moto già viste e riviste, molte nuove creazioni e spesso con soluzioni esteriche e tecniche molto interessanti. A differenza del resto del mondo, qui le moto più gettonate per le preparazioni sono sempre le Sportster. Qualche bel ferro vecchio, che non fa mai male. Fonte di ispirazione, ma più che altro di motivazione per continuare ad andare avanti per la mia strada, a piccoli passi, per costruire un futuro migliore per le nostre moto.

At the bike show in Verona there were lots of bikes, lots of people, lots of customizers and bike builders. Definitely the most important show of the year. What can I say? The Italian style is real, in some cases it is strong and powerful, and in some other cases it is just a clone. The funny thing is that we prefer to work on Sportsters mostly, compared to the rest of the world that works on big twins. Some good old bikes make an exception. Anyway it's been inspiring and stimulating, to keep up the good work, slowly, to create a better future for our bikes.

WORK IN PROGRESS - BREMBO GOLD

Presa la pinza Brembo 4 pistoni Serie Oro, corstruita la staffa, revisionata la pompa ed ecco che lo Shovel riprende a frenare decentemente. Altro che bananone monopistone. Prossimo step il disco flottante da 11,5". Purtroppo però per riuscire a montarlo devo modificare un gambale, cosa che al momento non mi entusiasma. Aspetto di vedere come si comporta così. Volevo solo passare il tempo.

I got a brand new Brembo 4 Piston Gold Series caliper, created the support, rebuilt the master cylinder and now my 1973 Shovelhead has a new front brake. No more single piston banana brake caliper. The next step will be an 11,5" floating rotor but I'll have to modify the slider, which I don't really want to. Anyway I was just playin' around.

MOTOR BIKE EXPO VERONA 15-16-17 / 01/ 2010

Venerdì 15 Gennaio comincia il Motor Bike Expo di Verona, l'appuntamento fieristico più importante di questo inizio 2010. Ci saranno centinaia di espositori italiani e stranieri. Assolutamente da non perdere. Io ci sarò nelle giornate di Sabato 16 e Domenica 17. Ci vediamo là!

On Friday January 15th the Motor Bike Expo will open its gates in Verona, Italy. It is the most important bike exhibition of this new 2010. There will be hundreds of Italian and International brands showing off their products and bikes. I'll be there on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th. See ya!

MANUBRIO BILTWELL CHUMPS 8"

Montato il Chumps da 8" della Biltwell su una FXDC in aggiunta ad un paio di specchi tondi. Devo dire notevole, sia come fattura sia come comodità. Chi ha una Dyna e vuole qualcosa di diverso senza andare verso lo Street Bob, mantenendo comodità e stile, lo prenda in considerazione. Il prezzo è nella media ma la qualità è eccellente.

I just ordered a Biltwell 8" Chumps handlebar for a friend. It's now on an FXDC and looks great. Added a pair of round mirrors. The bar is very well made and adds great comfort and stile without ending up to be a Street Bob. Think about it. Decent price for excellent quality.
